GRABYSUR, AMONG THE SUPPLIERS OF THE INTEGRATED TRAINING SYSTEM TO BRING THE TURKISH FIGHTER 'HÜRJET' TO SPAIN

• The Spanish defence industry, led by Airbus, and Turkish Aerospace signed this Wednesday at FEINDEF a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance in the development of the program 'Advanced Jet Trainer Aircraft, Integrated Training System - Combat (ITS-C)', whose objective is to replace the veteran F-5M of the Air and Space Army by the advanced trainer Hürjet.

• This is a highly strategic move for the national aerospace industry with which Grabysur reinforces its position as a leading European manufacturer specializing in the manufacture of backlit panels for the cockpits of military aircraft and helicopters, and in the manufacture of night vision equipment.

• The next step will be the signing of the contract for a specific number of fighters, and each of the roles of the Spanish companies participating in the program will be established.

• Grabysur executives have visited FEINDEF this week to maintain commercial contacts with the main companies in the sector, and to analyze business opportunities and collaboration with potential customers.

• For decades Grabysur has been Tier One of the aeronautical giant Airbus, developing avionics components for major military aviation programs such as A330MRTT, C295, CN235, C212 or the A400M.

-Seville, May 15, 2025.- The Spanish company Grabysur, specialized in the manufacture of flight instruments and night vision equipment for aircraft and helicopter cockpits, has participated in the signing of the memorandum of understanding signed by the Spanish industry, led by Airbus, and Turkish Aerospace (TAI) for a potential collaboration in the “Advanced jet trainer aircraft, Integrated Training System - Combat (ITS-C)” program, which aims to replace the veteran F-5M trainer aircraft of the Air and Space Army by the modern Turkish advanced trainer Hürjet.

This collaboration would leverage Airbus' experience (of which Grabysur is a strategic partner) in design, manufacturing, in-service support and training, with Turkish Aerospace's innovative design of the Hürjet, a single-engine, two-seat, supersonic jet trainer aircraft with a length of 13.6 meters and a wingspan of 9.5 meters that features advanced capabilities, including a modern aircraft cockpit far removed from the Spanish F-5M cockpit.

As a supplier in this project, Grabysur would contribute its specialization and extensive experience in the manufacture of backlit panels, on-board night vision systems and other avionics components. The Spanish supplier companies that signed the memorandum, together with Grabysur: Aciturri, Aernova, AERTEC, Airbus, Airtificial Aerospace & Defence, Grupo Amper, CENTUM, CESA, Clue Technologies, GMV, Indra, ITP Aero, Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, Orbital and Sener.

The agreement, signed within the framework of FEINDEF this week, builds on a previous memorandum of understanding signed to launch studies into this potential industrial collaboration. The next step will be the signature of the contract for a specific number of aircraft and each of the roles of the Spanish companies participating in the program will be established.

The executives directors of Grabysur have recently attended the International Defence and Security Fair of Spain (Feindef) in Madrid, with the aim of maintaining commercial contacts with the main companies in the sector and analyzing business and collaboration opportunities with potential clients. Likewise, their presence at this forum has also served to strengthen ties with their current partners and clients attending the event, as a European leader in the production of flight instrumentation, including equipment adapted for night vision (NVIS), primarily for aircraft.

"At Grabysur, we are convinced that cooperation is essential to advance the Spanish development of an innovative and sustainable defence industry, which is key to technological independence and the continuity of the national business network," said the CEO of the Andalusian company, Paz Gutiérrez, who was present at the signing ceremony of the agreement. "The agreement represents a significant step forward in the military aerospace sector. That is why we are honored to be part of the group of Spanish companies driving this important joint initiative, supporting technological development and generating value for both the Defence sector and its collaborators.

Coming up, from June 16 to 22, Grabysur will be present at the Paris Air Show (Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace) in Le Bourget, with a joint stand alongside Andalucía TRADE, where it will showcase its technologies and capabilities for the aerospace sector.

Continued growth in the Defence sector

For decades, Grabysur has been a Tier One supplier for aerospace giant Airbus, developing avionics components for major military aviation programs such as the A330MRTT, C295, CN235, C212, and even the A400M, which is assembled in Seville.

Currently, 90% of Grabysur’s revenue comes from the Defense sector. Its activities in avionics design, manufacturing, and repair—along with the adaptation of flight instruments to night vision (NVIS) environments—now account for nearly 100% of the company’s revenue. Of these sales, 60% are direct to Airbus, though its client portfolio also includes major players such as Indra, Thales, BAE Systems, OGMA, and both national and international air forces.

The company’s strong technological expertise, combined with forecasts of increased workload and the development of new business lines, support Grabysur’s positive growth outlook. The company expects to reach €3.6 million in revenue in 2024—a more than 31% increase compared to 2023—following a 128% overall sales increase since 2018. Looking ahead, Grabysur aims to surpass €5 million in revenue within the next five years.
Additionally, its workforce has grown by 45% over the past six years. The company now employs 37 people, with a strong emphasis on highly qualified profiles, as engineering activities account for 30% of the company’s revenue.
