AERTEC CREATES THE NEW COMPANY 'AERTEC DEFENCE & AERIAL SYSTEMS'

• The new company will focus on the design, development and manufacture of platforms and unmanned aerial vehicles, and dual guidance, navigation and control technologies, based on the company's catalogue of products with intellectual property already owned by the company.

• The subsidiary, incorporated in a notary's office in Malaga on September 18th, was created as a segregation of the activity carried out until now within the aerospace technology company AERTEC Solutions and is therefore fully operational from the first day.

• The TARSIS family, unmanned aerial systems with high performance and fixed-wing, are the flagship products of the new subsidiary, being the most advanced UAS of Spanish technology in their class. Its current version for operation on short and unprepared runways and the version currently under development for vertical take-off and landing, with hybrid propulsion, have been conceived for different applications in the military and civil fields.

• TARSIS systems are already trusted by the Spanish Ministry of Defence and the Govern of Galicia, with whom use cases are being developed for both defence and civilian applications.

AERTEC, the Spanish company specialized in aerospace and defence technology, has created the new corporate brand AERTEC Defence & Aerial Systems, a specific company to reinforce the firm's capabilities in aerial systems, with its technology and product, to cover the European and international markets in the segment of high performance unmanned aerial systems and autonomous systems technologies in the dual field.

The official signing of the deeds at the notary's office took place last week, September 18, in Malaga.

The differential of this new AERTEC Defence & Aerial Systems company, for which there are already contracts and customers, is that it incorporates the entire family of proprietary products, based on 100% AERTEC technology, focusing primarily on TARSIS systems and mature use cases, and other solutions under development.

The TARSIS family are the most advanced UAS of Spanish technology in its class and will be the flagship product of the new subsidiary. Its current version for operation on short and unprepared runways and the version currently under development for vertical take-off and landing, with hybrid propulsion, have been conceived for different applications in the military and civil fields.

TARSIS systems are equipped with ATOL (Automatic take-off and landing) technology and complete guidance, navigation and control systems, all based on proprietary developments. In addition, thanks to being the owners of the fundamental technologies of the system, they can integrate multiple other options with great agility and efficiency: secure communications, weapons integration, laser target designation, backup satellite datalink, dual and multispectral sensors or communications payloads for emergency support applications.

“The systems developed by AERTEC include different aerial platforms and ground control station configurations that will serve to integrate a series of payloads developed by the national industry”, says Pedro Becerra, Aerospace & Defence Director of AERTEC.

The TARSIS ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Location and Reconnaissance) versions are high-end Class I UAS, light tactical, offering a high payload integration capacity of up to 15 kgs and a long flight endurance of up to 12 hours, features that enable multiple configurations and adaptability to very demanding operating environments.

The TARSIS W version with a payload capacity of up to 30 kgs, and the integration of FOX missiles of 3 kgs, a product of the same company, are currently under development in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

The new company has its headquarters in Malaga TechPark, its Development Center and Final Assembly Line (FAL) in the Aerospace Technology Park of Seville, Andalusia, and is preparing a new location in Galicia (northern Spain) for the development of civilian use cases such as Maritime Rescue, firefighting and environmental observation.
