Press Release
AERTEC presents its technology for connected cabins and aircraft electrification in Hamburg
• International company AERTEC is taking part in the international Aircraft Interiors Expo, which will be held from 6 to 8 June in Hamburg, where the latest trends and developments in aircraft interior design and equipment will be presented.
• AERTEC has a wide range of technological solutions aimed at electrifying aircraft and improving connectivity, demonstrating its commitment to the challenge of Fly Net Zero by 2050.
5 June 2023.- Aircraft Interiors Expo is the leading international trade fair for showcasing the latest developments, advances and trends in aircraft interior design and fittings. It will start tomorrow in Hamburg and bring together 400 exhibitors from all over the world, including AERTEC.
The international company specialising in aerospace technology will present its complete portfolio of services and developments focused on improving aircraft connectivity at its stand 6C80/A. Its ongoing innovation as part of the MEA (More Electric Aircraft) concept has positioned it as one of the leading engineering companies specialising in designing and developing intelligent and dynamic power distribution solutions for aircraft that contribute to the challenge of Fly Net Zero by 2050. This includes the development of an electrical power controller with solid-state technology and components capable of reaching 540 VDC, which distributes high-voltage power in the aircraft to further increase the DC voltage to higher levels. Their ability to operate at 540 VDC offers enhanced energy efficiency and a significant reduction in energy losses compared to traditional power distribution systems. This results in extended flight range, which is crucial for both commercial airlines and military aircraft. It also ensures safer and more reliable power distribution. By using a higher DC voltage, the risk of power failures is minimised and system stability is improved. In addition, its modular design and real-time monitoring capabilities provide rapid problem identification and resolution, helping to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
AERTEC is one of the few Spanish companies specialised in the development of innovative on-board systems. This specialisation extends to the areas of avionics, certifiable on-board software and guidance, navigation and control systems. AERTEC applies advanced HW/SW avionics concepts to develop on-board computers, data concentrators and operational SW based on IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) for critical aircraft systems. It also designs and develops new wireless connectivity systems to manage and distribute data produced by next-generation IoT modules distributed throughout the aircraft or other cockpit sensors.

AERTEC's technological developments focus on integrating and expanding the use of technology in the cockpit, in line with the disruptive cockpit concept. In this context, international engineering is making progress with digitalisation as a means of facilitating and improving the safety of the tasks of all the people involved in the flight of an aircraft, by participating in the European Union project AS-DISCO (Audio Suite for Disruptive Cockpit Demonstrator), which has the primary objective of digitalising audio communications management between the crew and ground staff. Until now, these communications have been managed manually by the pilots. AERTEC has responded to this technological challenge by designing integrated modular avionics (IMA) software in accordance with the ARINC653 standard, which includes all the features necessary to automate cockpit procedures using innovative solutions for human-machine interfaces (HMI) and software-defined radio (SDR).
For the last five years, AERTEC has had an office in Hamburg, where it works on manufacturing engineering and electrical systems projects, advanced aerial mobility projects and major R&D&I activities.
