AERTEC SOLUTIONS STRENGTHENS ITS POSITION IN PORTUGAL WITH PROJECTS FOR THE AEROSPACE MANUFACTURERS EMBRAER AND AGUSTA WESTLAND
The engineering multinational presents at the Portuguese airshow Aerospace Meetings Lisboa’13 its credentials in the area of services for the aerospace industry involving the aircraft’s entire industrial cycle (industrialization, fabrication and probes).
The company is currently working in developing several projects in Portugal – the contract to design, manufacture and industrialize the assembly tools for the sponsors and elevators of the Embraer’s new military transport airplane KC-390, being prominent among them. AERTEC Solutions is involved in the inclusion of lay out, logistic and specific matters related to the industrialization of the elements within the programme.
Additionally, the company provides its expertise in a contract to supply FISS (Full In Service Support) for the fleet of Agusta Westland helicopters, under the Portuguese Air Force.
Portugal is one of the strategic markets for AERTEC Solutions, a company with projects in five continents, although notably focused on the European market.
Lisboa, 25 November 2013.- AERTEC Solutions, multinational engineering and consulting company specializing in the aerospace industry, is presenting this week at the Aerospace Meetings Lisboa 2013, its engineering portfolio for the aircraft’s entire industrial cycle (industrialization, fabrication and probes). Therefore, the company is intended to strengthen its position in the Portuguese market, where it has a subsidiary in Lisbon and currently develops projects for manufacturers such as Embraer and Agusta Westland.
One of these projects involves a contract of 2.5 million euros, in which AERTEC Solutions participates in consortium together with two other companies. This is about an engineering turnkey project entailing design, fabrication and industrialization of the assembly tools for the landing gear sponsons and the elevators for the new Embraer’s military transport aircraft KC-390, programme which is mostly being developed in Portugal.
“AERTEC Solutions collaborates in the two work packages of this project and provides its expertises within the inclusion of lay out, logistics and specific matters related to the industrialization of the elements within the programme, an area in which the company already is notably experienced within manufacturing studies of other world’s prime areospace projects such as the A400M”, states Pedro de Melo, Aertec’s International Business Development Manager.
A contract to supply FISS, Full in Service Support, to the fleet of Agusta Westland helicopters under the Portuguese Air Force excels among its project portfolio in development in Portugal. In this case, AERTEC Solutions is responsible for optimizing the configurations of the fleet operations by improving maintenance hangars, correcting failures using lean methodology and checking and upgrading key areas within the facility such as construction and logistics in the adjacent shopfloors. This contract with the Anglo-Italian helicopter manufacture is enabling developments and innovations which are already being implemented by the client.

The company has experienced an ongoing growth in the area of engineering services for the aerospace industry in the last few years, accumulating a wide experience and becoming a reference point at an international level thanks to its presence in major Airbus European aerospace projects such as A350XWB, A400M, A320 or A330MRTT.
In this area, AERTEC Solutions’s main asset is its capacity to work in the aircraft’s entire industrial cycle providing support services to industrialization, monitoring and management of aerospace manufacturing programmes; development of testing systems and onboard systems; and implementation of T1 solutions and management of computer programs for plant control.
